This was actually recorded back in 2006 as a backing track for Wilberforce. I had the title and music, but not the words.

The title was originally called "Spunk," a bootleg LP of Sex Pistols demos my friend Dave Goodman had produced. I was trying to write a tribute song to him as he'd just sadly passed away. I did eventually write "Frinton Bassett Blues" for him instead.

I returned to it in 2016. My Dad was ill and I had to sort through his stuff. I found an old paper bag of coins that were out of circulation. I remembered my old telescope when I was a kid, and my sister Karen's old skipping rope. They all ended up in the song.

An old and battered box, firmly locked 
Sliding out beneath the staircase

With a twist of the wrist I turned a rusty old key
